All the people were designed by ~donguri-usagi. I made the background and 2 kinds of coffee cups by 3D. ~donguri-usagi is one of the great artists with a high skill. I love her style.

Please check out fusion of her and my style. I think that especially matching 3D cups and 2D characters are wonderful very much. This is based on her skill.
If you feel some stories from it, we are glad!

I would like to say to her that thank you so much for this great collaboration. And we will do next collab work soon!

The resolution is 1920x1200pixels as a wallpaper.

The 3D environment with the 2D characters isn't something completely unique. However I enjoy the impact of the work. At first glance it seems like an ordinary drawing then you realize the differences in the textures and depth. I like the depth of the background, if it were any deeper I feel as if though it would've made the characters seem false and fall flat. The lighting and the shading seems perfect on the right two characters but seems lost on the two female characters on the left which is what I feel keeps the piece from going to the next level. Two characters are striving for the feel of depth and seem to take up space while the other two look and feel flat. Love the texture on the the cup. I can imagine the material its made out of. Very impressive though a miner detail definitely sucks me into the work and makes me feel as if though I am part of it.

I love the fall/Winter color pallet used in a harmonious way. Over all great work but in fixing minor details would take this piece into a "Wow" area instead of resting in a "Great" area

Always a fan of your work and looking forward to the next piece.

Very cool concept. I love how the environment has a feeling of realism to it, and the characters are drawn so they interact practically seamlessly with the 3D environment. The colors in the environment are crisp yet subtle so they don't detract from the hand drawn characters in the foreground. The integration between the coffee cups and the closest character were so flawless, that I had to do a triple take to make sure the cups were in fact CG rather than hand drawn. The character reflections are well done, too. They are "real" reflections custom drawn to match the environment in a 3D way, rather than a cheap "flip and fade" in the computer.
I do have one suggestion, though. The environment is lit with a "pure" white, whereas the hand drawn characters seem to be lit with more of a "golden" light. The juxtaposition of the two almost gives the characters a muddy look as nothing is as white as in its environment. My suggestion would be either to color-correct the characters to match the more neutral white lighting, or attempt at making the CG lighting more golden in tone to match the characters.
Beyond that, great execution! I look forward to more!

I love it! The use of 3D and 2D is done really well, and I feel as if I could reach out and grab the cup of coffee, despite it being 2D. I guess the 3D makes the 2D pop!
